It’s the gatekeeper.

You’ve probably heard the statistic that people rarely escape their family’s economic class.

But, it’s the same for Loan Officers.

Every year, I go to the conferences…

There are the same people on stage… and the same people in the audience.

The same people setting personal production records… the same people wondering where their next deal is going to come from.

The same people working their faces off… and the same people sitting back while their reputation feeds their business.

It all comes back to your identity.

Who you believe you are and what you are capable of.

If you want to speak on stage… you need an identity that allows you to.

If you want to do business with the top referral partners… you need to believe that you are the person they should be working with.

You’ll never outpace your identity… It’s the gatekeeper.

So, the question is…

How does someone change their identity?

I wish I could spell this out in one blog post. I just hosted a 2-day event for my coaching clients that was 100% focused on just this… Your identity. How it formed. What it has allowed you to do. And, most importantly, what it has kept you from doing.

It’s one of those things that people don’t talk about much. But, you are the one who decides who you are. Nobody else can decide how smart, stupid, attractive, ugly, poor, rich, shy, charismatic… You are the one who gets to decide what you are and what you are capable of.

As a boy, I wanted to be someone who did something great. I wanted to be noticed, appreciated, and respected. But, I had no idea how that whole thing worked.

I did what most people do. Went to conferences, read books, listened to podcasts, and paid coaches. But then, one day it hit me.

It’s the speaker on stage, the author of the book, the host of the podcast, and the coach I was paying…. That’s who I wanted to be.

This world is full of seekers but very few finders.
