There aren’t enough mortgages for all LOs

Abundance mindset?

Sorry, there just aren’t enough loans going around for all of the Loan Officers right now.

Sure, mindset is everything…

But, we have to be honest with ourselves.

Only some LOs will make great money this year.

Loan Officers have 2 options:

  1. Learn how to do what’s working
  2. Find another career to do for a few years until the market changes

The fact that you’re reading my blog… means that you are the type of person who is committed to this industry and sees the massive income potential.

As a coach in the mortgage industry, this year has actually been our most successful year yet. How is this possible in 2023? Because my program works. Honestly, I’m not sure what else is working in this market besides what I teach at INdesign.

The economy has been shifting for the past 5 years and it rapidly accelerated during the pandemic. People are looking at life differently. Delayed gratification isn’t as attractive as it used to be. People are more interested in living a fulfilling life than they are in stacking up cash and hoping that the fulfillment comes after.

What’s this mean for mortgage professionals today? Economies dictate who people pay attention to and how people shop. People are more attracted to those who are living life in the way that they want to live their life. 

Realtors are people too. This means that they will be attracted to the Loan Officer that is living the life they want to live. 

Your personal brand needs to show others what type of person you are. This is how people are choosing who they like in this new economy (this is even more true for people 35 and younger).

I realize that this concept is difficult to grasp. How can being an incredible person result in bringing in more loans? But, is this really that hard to understand? Haven’t incredible people always been more attractive?

People pay attention to those who have what they want. Thousands of years ago, it was a farm. 80 years ago, it was a stable career. 10 years ago, it was wealth and status. Today, it’s finding your purpose and using it to make a meaningful impact on the world.

It was thought that you needed a ton of money before you found your purpose. However, even with the money, people find themselves no different than everyone else. Most of the time, too burned out to spend the time discovering themselves and tapping into a purpose-filled life.

It turns out, you don’t need money to find your purpose… Your purpose actually makes you money faster. 

People pay attention to those who have what they want. In this economy, people want a strong sense of self, a connection to their purpose, and a platform where they get to do what they love to do.

Purpose is what is scarce. Most people spend so much time making money that they aren’t even looking for it. Which is a shame, because this new economy favors those who have discovered their purpose. All of those who have spent their lives becoming good at their job are now finding themselves unattractive in the marketplace… blending in with the sea of other Loan Officers.

In the old economies… nice guys finished last.

In this economy, nice guys will finish first.
