Careers follow a stereotypical trajectory.
Initially, there’s excitement for the future. The money that will finally “set you free.”
Then, you realize that $2 million in the bank isn’t all that much.
So, you stay waist-deep in the hustle and grind.
But, it’s harder to grind when you’re just…. doing it to do it.
Humans like to think that money motivates them… but, that always wears off.
And, money is realllllly hard to make when you’re unmotivated.
This is a typical plateau for most people.
You’re in a good place financially and you want more… But, what do you need the money for?
You see, motivation cannot be fabricated. It comes when you are building something that matters to you. Most people try the whole, “I’m doing it for my family” thing… But, that’s BS. Your family will be just fine (and they probably wish you were mentally present with them more often).
The truth is, if you want to stay motivated, you’re going to need to change what you’re doing. Listening to podcasts, reading books, and attending conferences is just a bandaid. Action is the only thing that matters. And, if that action is spent doing the same old stuff you’re tired of doing… don’t expect it to motivate you.
Mortgage is one of the most diverse careers I’ve ever seen. If you’re unmotivated… you’re doing it wrong.
You’re not the Loan Officer you were when you first started. So, take a step back and reevaluate things. Are you holding back? Do you know that you are capable of far more success than you are currently achieving?
If so, the chances are that you’re probably still thinking like you did back when you were broke. Chasing money because that’s what everyone told you to do. But, happy and wealthy people don’t chase money. They have built a personal brand and a reputation that brings money to them.
Why are the industry elite still so motivated despite having enough money to retire?
Because it hasn’t been about the money for a really long time. They’re playing the game for motivation… and the money just comes as a byproduct.
I’m lucky that I learned this lesson when I was young. It’s brought me all sorts of fulfilling opportunities (and a ton of money).
But, it wasn’t an accident. I had to learn how they did it.
And now, I teach Loan Officers how to do the same.
Click HERE if you want to chat with me about how my coaching program works. I know it sounds like witchcraft and snake oil… but, that’s only because capitalism told you to “hustle and grind.” But, my rich friends and I stopped that stuff a long time ago.
It’s all about fulfillment now.
